On the Senator's Desk:
Senator Shapleigh and Representative Norma Chavez are hosting the 12th Border Legislative Conference Forum on Friday and Saturday in El Paso. This two-day event will bring together legislators from the ten states along the U.S.-Mexico border to continue discussions on how to further a bi-national focus on issues that affect the border region. The objective of the BLC is to foster the development of shared solutions along the border region through joint consideration of common problems and exchange of information.
Those who Visited:
Senator Shapleigh's Capitol Office Staff traveled to El Paso on Thursday to meet with local stakeholders and constituents and attend a staff meeting and dinner. David Edmonson, Senator Shapleigh's Health and Human Services Aide, met with Ann Pauli regarding health issues affecting the El Paso community and Brie Franco, the Education Aide and General Counsel is meeting with UTEP students regarding the UTEP Centennial Plan.
Upcoming Events: On Tuesday, December 13th, Senator Shapleigh and the Texas Department of Transportaion are announcing the opening of the International Intelligent Transportation Research Center.
And, on Wednesday, December 14, please join Senator Shapleigh and his Eastside Office staff for our Christmas Open House at 1801 N. Zaragosa , Ste. C. Come meet our new Community Outreach Specialist, Joana D. Alferez. Food and beverages will be provided.
