EL PASO - On Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. MST (7:30 p.m. CST) from Austin, Senator Eliot Shapleigh (D- El Paso) will host a Tele-Town Hall meeting with his constituents to discuss El Paso's local economy and jobs, El Paso's stimulus projects and the expansion of the Texas Tech four-year medical school in El Paso.
"Tele-Town Hall meetings are a great way to participate live on issues important to you," Senator Shapleigh said.
A Tele-Town Hall meeting uses technology to connect constituents through their home telephones to public officials and each other. At 6:30 p.m. Monday, the Tele-Town Hall will call El Paso homes. El Pasoans are then given the option to participate in the meeting.
