EL PASO – Senator Eliot Shapleigh is attending "Cross-Border Travel and Trade: A U.S./Canada Forum on WHTI" in Detroit Michigan from February 29 to March 1 to discuss challenges and solutions on cross-border travel.
The forum highlights initiatives on the U.S.-Canada border and features business and government leaders from both countries. Participants include Vermont Governor Jim Douglas; Rep. Steve Tobocman, Majority Floor Leader, Michigan House of Representatives; Stewart Baker, Asst. Secretary for Policy, U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security; and Greg Goatbe, Vice President of Admissibility, Canada Border Services Agency.
Senator Shapleigh will present with regional business leaders on Saturday, March 1 on cross-border policy impacts on the economy. The conference is being held at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in Detroit Michigan.
