Senator Eliot Shapleigh was re-appointed to the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday by Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who also kept the El Paso senator as the chairman of the Subcommittee on Base Realignment and Closure.

Shapleigh was also named as the vice-chairman of the International Relations and Trade Committee.

“These assignments will allow us to keep working on the items that we started last session, while at the same time, they put us in a position to keep moving El Paso forward,” Shapleigh said.

He also was appointed to the Transportation and Homeland Security Committee and the Veteran Affairs and Military Installations Committee.
