On the Senator's Desk:
Senator Shapleigh is working with El Paso ISD and Teach for America to bring as many as 150 new teachers to the El Paso Region. Teach for America is the national corps of recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools.
Those who visited:
Senator Shapleigh is in Washington D.C. this week meeting with national leaders about issues that are important to El Paso and to Texas. He met with Senators Cornyn and Bingaman and Representative Doggett.
Upcoming Events:
On Monday, November 7th at 4:00 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel by the Airport, El Paso's legislators will be honored for standing up for school children and public schools.
