El Paso - On Thursday, September 24, 2009  at 9 a.m. the Texas Transportation Commission will meet to discuss six important project items that will affect El Paso:

The Texas Transportation Commission will authorize the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Executive Commissioner to negotiate a pass-through toll agreement with the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority for development of a portion of the I-10 at Loop 375 (America's Interchange) project which includes four direct connectors to and from I-10 to Loop 375.

To fund this infrastructure, along with other interchange and aesthetic improvements along the I-10 corridor, the Texas Transportation Commission will also consider a $35 million State Infrastructure Bank loan request made by the El Paso Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority.

In addition, the Commission will approve a minute order authorizing the designation of Loop 375 (Cesar Chavez Border Highway) from U.S. 54 (Patriot Freeway) to Zaragoza Road, as a toll project on the state highway system.

Lastly, the Texas Transportation Commission will preliminary approve a $6.3 million loan to the City of El Paso that will pay for improvements to the El Paso Del Norte Bridge.

"Here is the most important El Paso agenda in the generation. We are moving forward with key items that will build infrastructure, improve mobility, and make sure El Pasoans will move safer, smarter and faster."
